RAY 日晕烛台

Designer Ziren Zhou has been interested in “glowing utensils” since he was a child. Inspired by the glow of CDs in the sun, he used metal etchings to make a candle holder named RAY. A flat copper sheet is engraved with a concentric groove of unequal width and a dashed line to help bending. Bending along the dashed line can form a cone-shaped reflector. Once the candle lights up, a beautiful halo will be created on the ring as the flame moves and different perspectives, and the hollow dotted line projects a pine tree shape with a glittering spire on the back. When you don’t put a candle, it will also become a very eye-catching and interesting artwork.

设计师周子韧从小开始就对“发光的器物“充满兴趣，受CD光碟在阳光下的辉光效果启发，他使用金属蚀刻片制作出一款 RAY日光烛台。在平板铜片上刻有同心不等宽的凹槽和帮助弯折的虚线，沿虚线弯折即可形成圆锥状的反光杯。一旦蜡烛亮起，随着火苗的移动和视角的不同圆环上将会产生美丽的光环，镂空的虚线恰好在背面投射出一颗带有闪光尖顶的松树造型。不放蜡烛时，它也会成为一件十分吸引眼球有趣的艺术品摆件。
